As an adult I have continued to follow my passion for animals dedicating time to foster for local dog rescues, volunteer grooming for shelters and rescues, as well as social networking to save the lives of pets on death row.

After many years of a less satisfying role in customer service bars and restaurants I pursued employment in a veterinary clinic setting. Although rewarding, I began to pursue other animal care interests. This led me to the NCGIA in Greenville, South Carolina where I graduated as a Certified Feline Master Groomer. It was upon my return that I opened the first and only feline exclusive mobile grooming spa to come to Ottawa!

In my second year I added another mobile spa, one to be canine exclusive to meet the needs of my ever growing clientele with multi-pet households.

I could have never imagined I would have the opportunity to expand my horizons even further and open a brick and mortar shop in one of the most historic and community focused parts of the city.

My passion is helping people and their furry friends build healthy relationships with grooming. I understand how important your pets are and can assure you that their safety and well being are my number one priority.

I love working with animals and I’ve had just about every type of pet you can imagine. Growing up on a farm allowed me to gain experience working with a variety of animals. I believe any animal, big or small, is important and should be treated as if they were my own.

When I’m not working, I offer my time to local rescues by volunteering and raising funds. I love fostering and most of my own pets are rescues.

I am thrilled to be a part of leading the Purrdy Paws Team and I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies!

Hi, I’m Sam (she/her), and I’m a Client Communications Representative/ Feline Grooming Assistant here at Purrdy Paws Spa!

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, bunnies, and other small pets, I quickly learned that animals aren’t just pets — they’re family. Caring for them has always come naturally to me, and I love creating positive experiences for both pets and their people.

My goal is to make every visit feel welcoming, comfortable, and stress-free from the moment you walk through our doors. Whether I’m greeting your furry family members, answering questions, or helping coordinate their spa day, I’m always happy to help with a smile (and plenty of pet cuddles, of course!).

I can’t wait to meet you and your beautiful pets, give them the warmest welcome, and send them home looking and feeling picture purrfect!

Salutations! My name is Jordyn, I use She/Her pronouns and I am the Customer Care Representative for our Bank Street Spa.

As a kid growing up on my grandparents farm, those around me used to say “she gets along with animals more than she does humans”. Since then I’ve developed my ‘people skills’ quite well, though my natural kinship with our furry friends hasn’t diminished. I’m happy to work alongside the dedicated team at Purrdy Paws Spa to assist in the grooming process, so that both humans and pets feel welcome, valued, and understood from start to finish.

When I’m not behind the front desk at work you can find me training with my dachshund Phineas or embroidering memorial pieces for pets who have passed the rainbow bridge. I’m looking forward to meeting you at your next appointment!

Growing up I’ve had cats, dogs and many different small animals.

Animals have always been a big part of my life, growing up I wanted to be a Vet Tech but realized I also enjoyed creating content and bringing my creative ideas to life. That’s when I realized I can combine the two and create content about something that brings me so much joy.

At home I have my own fur family, my Jack Russell Darla and my cat Gigi. I look forward to spending time with your fur babies at the spa and creating content that will bring a smile to your day!

Hi! My name is Mear and my pronouns are she/her. I’m a Junior bather here at Purrdy Paws.

I grew up in the countryside outside of Ottawa, surrounded by all kinds of animals which is where my love and passion for them really began.

Throughout my childhood, I cared for everything from dogs and cats, farm animals to birds and even chinchillas, and I’ve always treated each one as an extension of my family. I studied Education and Community Development at Algonquin College, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was meant to work with animals. That’s when I decided to follow that passion and that’s what brought me here!

At home, I live with my boyfriend and we have a fur family of our own: Louie, my three-year-old Persian cat, and Winston, my German Shepherd-Rottweiler mix puppy.

Hey! My name is Jasmine, and I use she/her pronouns. I was born and raised in rural Greater Sudbury, Northern Ontario, where I was surrounded by nature and wildlife. My fascination and passion for animals goes as far back as I can remember.

I grew up with several large dogs and a few barn cat colonies. I now have my first indoor cat, Ellie, a chatty black cat with a whole lot of sass! I love going on adventures with her outside.

I began working in the pet industry in 2022, gaining experience in pet daycare, boarding, bathing, and light grooming. These experiences only solidified my passion for working with animals, especially dogs. Every time I had a grooming shift, I found myself wishing I could do it every single day!

What I love most about grooming is developing a personal connection with each pet while creating an amazing transformation. I really care about making my furry clients feel pampered, comfortable, and cared for. I’m so excited to continue developing my skills and give my new furry friends the most fun and memorable experience possible!

Alberto uses He/Him pronouns and grew up in the Dominican Republic. He immigrated to Canada with his sister and mother as a young child. Alberto had limited exposure to pets in his youth. When he met and married the owner, Jayme Montero, he quickly adapted to a lifestyle that heavily revolved around companion animals and their care. Turns out he actually had quite a soft spot for them all along!

He wanted to do his part to help the family business progress so he attended Pets Beautiful academy to complete their Pet Stylist Program. He quickly took over the canine mobile operations and has established a large and loyal clientele.

Alberto is fluent in Spanish, French, English and Portuguese. Alberto’s hobbies include Latin music and dancing. He also enjoys woodworking, camping and providing chauffeur services to his daughters.

Hi, my name is Alanna and I use any pronouns! Ever since I was a child, I knew that I wanted to work with animals forever. I’ve lived with all different kinds of animals from cats and dogs to extreme exotics.

I’ve always been an extreme advocate for animal rights and welfare my entire life and will continue to do so.

When I got my very first dog of my own for my birthday when I was 14. She changed my whole world. Everything I did in my life included her. She was my rock when I went through school and during hardships. She was my everything. During the period when she got sick, I decided to switch from my animation career to something/anything that benefitted animal needs and medical care. I looked into applying for the veterinary technician course at Algonquin college. During that time of applying for the course I got into a dog grooming course.

Since March 2015 I’ve been a Professional Dog Groomer; dedicated to making dogs feel more comfortable and stylish! Your family member will always be my number one concern and I’ll do everything I can to make sure your family gets the best grooming experience possible.

Hi! My name is Tanisha, I use She/Her pronouns and I am the Salon Lead at Purrdy Paws. My role in the team consists of assisting, and managing our resident bathers and groomers, training our new bathers and helping to make sure everything goes smoothly throughout each day.

I am living my best life, doing what I love, working with animals! I have always dreamed of working with pets. Grooming gives me the purrfect opportunity to not only bond with your furry friend, but also pamper them, and make them look wonderful for you! My passion through grooming is helping dogs, and I deal with many clients that struggle with grooming, and work with them to help them be more confident, comfortable, and receptive to the grooming experience. I also really enjoy servicing our pallative clients, as making them as comfortable as possible brings me great joy.

I have a small little family of my own pets, inlcluding my cat Kiyarah and my dog Puhzzle. I have always loved animals, but ever since I got my first dog at the age of 16, my life has been eat, sleep, and breathe pets. Grooming provides me a way to be around many pets and help them feel and look great at the same time.

I started working in the animal industry at age 17, as a bather, in my last year of high school. Shortly after graduating, I went through training to learn to groom. I have been grooming since 2012, and in 2022 I added handstripping to my skills learned in grooming! I love meeting all of my clients, and forming lasting bonds with both you and your pets! I look forward to meeting you, and taking care of your furry friend as if they were my own!

My name is Madison and I use She/Her pronouns. I live with my boyfriend, our two cats Annie and Lucy, our lizard Stanley and our German Shepherd Gus. I have always been very passionate about working with pets. This is because I love the experience of building a bond with each pet in my care.

Getting to know each pet’s unique personality and quirks is one of my favorite parts of the job, as well as finding ways to work through their fears of grooming. I am looking forward to bringing my love for animals and passion for this industry, as well as my creative side to Purrdy Paws!

Hello, my name is Yasin, i go by He/Him pronouns and i am a Canine Groomer Apprentice here at Purrdy Paws.

I began my grooming career in 2021, initially searching for a job but quickly discovering a true passion for working with animals. While working at Purrdy Paws Spa, I am also studying to become an architectural technician. Although I didn’t have any pets growing up, I quickly developed a deep appreciation for caring for them. Now, I share my home with a fluffy Samoyed, which has only strengthened my love for animals.

I take pride in making pets feel comfortable and ensuring they leave looking and feeling their best. My goal is to create a positive experience for both pets and their owners through careful grooming and attention to detail. I’m still learning from the best team, and I’m excited to continue growing in this field.

I’m Ahirilis (Lili), a professional pet groomer with a deep love for animals and a calm, caring approach to every session. I believe grooming is not just about looks it’s about trust, comfort, and making each pet feel safe and respected. I take the time to understand every dog’s personality and needs, ensuring a gentle and positive experience from start to finish. Originally from the Caribbean, I bring warmth, patience, and attention to detail into my work and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m happy to be part of the Purrdy Paws team and excited to welcome new furry clients!

Kate uses She/Her pronouns. Kate worked as an assistant manager for a local pet store for 5 years before she found her calling in the salon during the COVID pandemic. An animal lover to the core, Kate and her husband care for two dogs (Reggie & Hades) and two cats (Vespa & Dexter) any of whom she can talk about for hours!

Kate brings her experience as a rescue foster and longtime pet owner to the table to provide a gentle and fun experience for any pet, whether they are new to world or long in tooth. Kate specializes in doodles and chihuahuas but is open to work with any breed, and absolutely loves to work with puppies!

My cats Klouwd and Zorie are my world, they’ve been through everything with me, the good, the not so good, the growing. There is a special type of magic that their love hold, it has the power to turn the darkest days into sunshine!

Hi, my name is Sarah and I use She/Her pronouns. I’ve been around animals my whole life. From dogs to horses to even pet rats, all animal have a special place with me. I worked as a supervisor in a dog day-care for 6 years where I discovered my love of grooming.

I’ve been grooming since 2020 and found my passion working with large/giant breed dogs! I treat all dogs like they are my own and ensure that each appointment is a pawsitive experience so that each pet leaves happy and looking purrdy!

I have a little family of my own including my 3 dogs (Benji, Astro and Tsunami), my pet rats and 3 horses! Ask me anything about them and I can talk for hours!

When I’m not grooming I love to go camping, take hikes with my dogs and enjoying quiet trail rides with my horses. I look forward to meeting and working with your furry friends!

Hi! My name is Sam, I use She/Her pronouns and I am a Certified Feline Master Groomer in the Feline Mobile Unit, and in-spa at the Beechwood and Westbrook salons. I started at Purrdy Paws in March of 2022 with hope to get experience in the world of working with animals as I had previously wanted to become a Veterinary Technician.

Quickly, I fell in love with the grooming side of things and decided that cat grooming is what I wanted to do. In July of 2023, I attended the Apex Academy Feline Grooming course in Saskatchewan where I received my CFMG certificate that allows me to groom cats with all the knowledge I need to provide care for your furry friends. Helping people understand the importance of grooming is something I have become very passionate about with my time at Purrdy Paws and is something that I will continue to carry with me forever. I owe so much to Jayme Montero for opening my eyes to the world of animal grooming and the whole Purrdy Paws Team for supporting me with my decisions to move forward with my passion and become the best cat groomer I possibly can! I couldn’t have chosen a better community to be a part of.

Hi, I’m Dalma, a feline grooming assistant at Purrdy Paws. I’m originally from Hungary and have shared my life with cats since childhood. My love for animals and curiosity inspired me to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.

I moved to Canada two years ago and began volunteering at the Burlington Humane Society, where I discovered how much I enjoy hands-on work with cats and helping them feel safe and comfortable. Last year, I found my way to Purrdy Paws, where I discovered my true passion, cat grooming. I’m currently working toward becoming a certified cat groomer and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.

Hello, I’m Jennessa. I use she/her pronouns. I am a feline grooming assistant at Purrdy Paws Spa!

I grew up in a small town in Labrador where I worked closely with our local animal rescue and developed a passion for helping all kinds of furry friends! I have worked with a wide range of animals with a lot of different temperaments, including poultry, rodents and reptiles, which taught me how much time and patience goes into giving an animal the best life possible and how important regular upkeep on things like our pets grooming is.

When I’m not helping your cats groomers with your kitty’s spa day I’ll usually be on a hike or with family or with my cats Peter and Jeramy reading a book, crocheting or playing a video or board game

I’m so excited to have the opportunity to meet and work with all of your fluffy family members every day!

Hi, my name is Trinity and I use She/Her pronouns. I’ve been around animals my entire life and had my first job working as a stable hand with 13 horses. As I grew older I found other passions in writing and health care. I pursued an English major at Carleton University while taking courses at Algonquin College in the Cardiovascular Technology program.

However, I left my studies to return to what brings me true happiness: working with animals. I worked as a bather for a year before taking a grooming course and finding a small private shop close to home. While the short drive was great, I yearned to learn more and Purrdy Paws offered that opportunity! I’d love to further my knowledge in creative grooming and taking on all dog breeds!

When I’m not grooming, I’m at home with my three dogs (Sherlock, Louie and Phoebe) and two cats (Talladega and Cikada). I love hiking with my dogs and watching true crime documentaries.

Hi, my name is Chloe and I use She/Her pronouns. I have loved animals my entire life, and with a background in hairstyling, it seemed only natural I fell in love with dog grooming! I began my grooming career in 2011 after working with horses my whole life, and haven’t looked back since. I am a Certified Pet Stylist with CPPS, and strive to continue certification to improve on my skills and knowledge to become a Canadian Master Groomer.

I love my clients’ dogs like they’re my own, and I will take the time to ensure they have a comfortable and happy experience! I am pet first aid certified, experienced in hand stripping, breed clips, creative colour, and everything in between! I have a huge soft spot for Yorkies and bully breeds, but my favourite trims to do are Schnauzers, Poodles, and teddy bear style clips.
